Your Questions, Answered

Common questions women across Gurugram ask before their first visit.

Which gynaecologist in Gurugram is open on Sunday?

Dr. Anam Ghani consults on Sundays at both Gurugram clinics: Dr. Anam's Women Health Clinic in Sector 51 (Mayfield Garden) and the Dr. Anam Ghani clinic in Sector 56. Call 084472 59265 to confirm Sunday timings and book a slot.

Where is Dr. Anam Ghani's clinic located in Gurugram?

There are two clinics. Dr. Anam's Women Health Clinic is at 1st Floor, Block K, Mayfield Garden, Sector 51, Samaspur, Gurugram 122018. The Dr. Anam Ghani clinic is at Huda Plots, Plot No. 132, Opposite Devender Vihar, Sector 56, Gurugram 122011. Both are easy to reach from Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension Road and Sohna Road.

How do I book an appointment with Dr. Anam Ghani?

Call or WhatsApp 084472 59265 for Dr. Anam's Women Health Clinic (Sector 51), or call 088823 93368 for the Dr. Anam Ghani clinic (Sector 56). You can also use the Book Appointment button at the top of this page.

Does Dr. Anam Ghani handle high-risk pregnancies?

Yes. With 12+ years of experience and 8000+ deliveries, including 5000+ vaginal and 3000+ C-section deliveries, Dr. Anam specialises in high-risk pregnancy care such as hypertension in pregnancy, gestational diabetes, recurrent pregnancy loss and twin pregnancies.

Is both normal delivery and C-section available?

Yes. Dr. Anam supports normal (vaginal) delivery wherever safely possible and performs C-sections when medically needed, along with hysterectomy and myomectomy procedures.

At what age should a woman first visit a gynaecologist?

A first visit is generally recommended between ages 13 and 18, or whenever periods start causing problems. Adult women should see a gynaecologist for any menstrual, fertility or contraception concerns, and routinely for preventive screening.

How often should I get a Pap smear test?

Most guidelines recommend a Pap smear every 3 years for women aged 21 to 65, or every 5 years when combined with HPV testing after age 30. Your doctor may advise a different schedule based on your history.

Are irregular periods a cause for concern?

Occasional irregularity is common, but consistently irregular, very heavy, very painful or missed periods can point to PCOS, thyroid issues or other treatable conditions. If your cycle is irregular for 3 months or more, it is worth getting evaluated.

What are common signs of PCOS or PCOD?

Irregular or missed periods, weight gain, acne, excess facial or body hair, hair thinning and difficulty conceiving are common signs. PCOS is very manageable with the right combination of lifestyle changes and medical treatment.

Is white discharge normal?

Clear or white discharge that changes through your cycle is usually normal. Discharge with itching, burning, a strong odour, or a green or grey colour may indicate an infection and should be examined and treated.

I just found out I am pregnant. When should I see a doctor?

Book your first antenatal visit as soon as you have a positive pregnancy test, ideally by 6 to 8 weeks. Early visits confirm the pregnancy, check its location, and start folic acid and any needed care on time.

How often are antenatal checkups needed during pregnancy?

A typical schedule is once a month until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks from 28 to 36 weeks, and weekly after 36 weeks. High-risk pregnancies may need more frequent visits.

How can I prevent recurrent urinary tract infections?

Drink plenty of water, do not hold urine for long, urinate after intercourse and maintain good hygiene. If UTIs keep coming back, see a doctor to find and treat the root cause rather than repeating antibiotics.

What birth control options can I discuss at the clinic?

Options include oral contraceptive pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), injections, barrier methods and emergency contraception. The right choice depends on your health, age and family plans, and is discussed confidentially.

What should I do about very painful periods?

Mild cramps are common, but pain that disrupts daily life, worsens over time or comes with heavy bleeding can signal endometriosis, fibroids or adenomyosis. These are treatable, so do not ignore persistent period pain.
